mixing metals in the ratio 5:6 and 3:7 respectively. If equal quantities of the
alloys are melted to form a third alloy C, the ratio of gold and copper in C

Gold
in C = 5/11 + 3/10 = 50+33/110 = 83/110.
Copper in C = 6/11 + 7/10 = 60+77/110 = 137/110.
The
ratio of gold and copper in C = 83/110: 137/110
= 83:137
