Ratio and Proportion:

The least whole number which when subtracted from both the terms of the ratio 9:8 gives a ratio less than 11:20 is:

Solution:
               (9-x)/(8-x) <11/20
               180-20x < 88-11x
               92 < 9x
               x > 10.2

               Least such whole number is 10.
