Aptitude Day 110

Answer of Day 109: 7300

Hey friends... We're gonna see problems on Permutations and Combinations from tomorrow. So let's look at those formulae today.

Formulae:

  • Factorial Notation n! = n(n-1)(n-2).... 3.2.1.
  • 0! = 1.

Permutations:

  • nPr = n! / (n-r)!
  • All permutations made with the letters a,b,c  by taking two at a time are (ab, ba, ac, ca, bc, cb).
  • All permutations made with the letters a,b,c taking all at a time are (abc, acb, bac, bca, cab, cba).

Combinations:

  • nCr = n(n-1)(n-2).... to r factors / r!
  • nCr = nCn-r
  • If we want to select 2 out of 3 girls A, B and C. Then the possible selections are AB,BC and CA.
  • All the combinations formed by a,b,c taking two at a time are ab, bc and ca.
  • The only combination that can be formed of 3 letters a,b,c taken all at a time is abc.
  • ab and ba are two different permutations but they represent the same combination.
  • nCn =1.
  • nCo = 1.

You'll be able to get a clear idea while we're solving the problems.

Aptitude Day 332

Answers of Day 331: 1. 450%.                                     2. 10.   Problems on Percentage: 1. 0.001 is what percent of 0.01? Solution:                   0.001/0.01 * 100 = 1/10* 100                                               = 10%. 2. A fruit seller had some apples. He sells 20% apples and still has 500 apples. Originally, he had: Solution:                (100-20)% of x = 500                80/100*x = 500                x = 625.

Aptitude Day 66

Problems to solve: 1. 90 has been divided into 3 parts such that the one-third of the first part, the second part and the one-fourth of the third part are equal. Find the middle number. 2. Of the 3 numbers, the sum of the first number and the twice of the second number is 55, the sum of the second and the third numbers is 45 and the sum of the third and the first numbers is 40. Find the smallest number.     Hey guys... From tomorrow we're going to work on the problems based on Ratio and Proportion. So stay tuned.
