Problems on Percentage:

1. The sum of 2 numbers is 95/73 of the first number. The second number is what percent of the first?

Solution:
                  x+y = 95/73*x

                  By solving the above equation, we get
                  y/x = 30.13%

2. A student multiplied a number by 2/3 instead of 3/2. What’s the percentage error in the calculation?

Solution:
                   Error = 3x/2 -2x/3
                             = 5x/6.
                   Error Percentage = 5x/6 * 3/2*1/x * 100
                                               = 125%.
