Problems on Percentage:

1. The ratio 3: 5 expressed as a percent equals:

Solution:
                 3/5 * 100 = 60%.

2. A student secures 70%, 80% and 50% marks in test papers with 50, 60 and 120 respectively as maximum marks. The percentage of his aggregate is:

Solution:
                Total marks secured = 70/100 * 50 + 80/100 * 60 + 50/100 * 120
                                                     = 35+ 48+ 60
                                                     = 143.

               Total maximum marks = 50+ 60+ 120 = 230.

                Aggregate percentage = 143/230 * 100 = 62. 17%.
