Answer of Day 39: 250

1. Find the number which when multiplied by 4 is increased by 39.

Solution:
                  Let the number be x.
                  4x= x+39
                  3x=39
                   x=13
The required number is 13.

2. If a number, when divided by 3, is reduced by 12. Find the number.

Solution:
                  Let the number be x.
                  x/3 = x-12
                  x = 3x-36
                  2x=36
                  x=18
The number is 18.

3. The third part of a number is decreased by 8 which is equal to the sixth part of the number increased by 2. Find the number. 

Solution:
                  Let the number be x.
                  (x/3)-8 = (x/6)+2
                  (x/3)-(x/6) = 10
                  (2x-x)/6 = 10
                   x/6 =10
                   x = 60
The number is 60.
