Aptitude Day 20

Try to solve this problem [ Based on yesterday's model. If you have'nt checked out, check this out Aptitude Day 19

Six years ago, the ratio of the ages of A and B was 6:5. Four years hence, the ratio of their ages will be 11:10. What’s B’s age at present?

             Again, today we’re gonna see the problems regarding Problems On Ages.

      1. The total ages of A, B and C is 93 years. Ten years ago, the ratio of their ages was  2:3:4. What’s the present age of C?

         Solution:
                          Let the ages of A, B and C be 2x, 3x and 4x respectively.
                          Their total is 93.
                          Their present ages will be (2x+10), (3x+10) and (4x+10) respectively.
                          (2x+10)+(3x+10)+(4x+10) = 93
                                            9x+30  = 93
                                                 9x = 63
                                                   x = 7

                          Present age of C is (4x+10) = 28+10 = 38 years.

      2. The ratio of the present ages of 2 sisters is 1:2 and 5 years back, the ratio was 1:3. What will be the ratio of ages after 5 years?

      Solution:
                          Let the present ages of two sisters be x and 2x respectively.
                          5 years back, their ages will be (x-5) and (2x-5) respectively and their ratio was 1:3.
                          Therefore,
                                      (x-5)/(2x-5) = 1/3
                                      3(x-5) = (2x-5)
                                        3x-15 = 2x-5

                                              x = 10
                          The ratio of their ages after 5 years is (x+5) : (2x+5)  which is  15:25

                           On further simplification, we get 3:5

     3. A is 40 years old and B is 60 years old. How many years ago was the ratio of their age
 3: 5?

     Solution:
                           (40-x)/(60-x) = 3/5
                            5(40-x) = 3(60-x)
                              200-5x = 180-3x
                                     20 = 2x
                                        x = 10

10 years ago, the ratio of their ages was 3:5.

This is similar to the last model where we will find the unit digit of the sum. Example: 432*459*28*48=? Solution:  2*9=18 , 8*8=64, 4*8= 32. The unit digit of the total product is 2.  Problems to solve Find the unit digit of the product in the following 1. 404*397*810*21 =? 2. 24*42*36*78 =? 3. 81*82*89 =? 4. 72*36*98*47 =?
