Problems on Average:
                  
1. In the 1st 20 overs of a cricket game, the run rate was only 4.1. What should be the run rate in the remaining 30 overs to reach the target of 305 runs?

Solution:
                 Runs in the 1st 20 overs =  4.1*20 = 82
                 Run rate = (305-82)/30 = 223/30 = 7.43.

2. The average price of 3 items of furniture is 20000. If their prices are in the ratio 1:2:5, the price of the cheapest item:

Solution:
                 Sum of 3 items = 20000*3 = 80000

                 x+2x+5x = 80000
                 8x = 80000
                 x = 10000 which is the cheapest item.
