                                    2. 32 km/hr.


Problems on Time and Distance:

1. A car travelling with 2/3 of its actual speed covers 48 km in 2 hours and 40 minutes. Find the actual speed of the car.

Solution:
                  Let the actual speed be x.

                  Time = 2 * 40/60 = 2(2/3)= 8/3 hours.

                  2/3*[x] *8/3 = 48.

                  By solving the above equation, we get
                  x = 27 km/hr.

2. A man can reach a certain place in 10 hours. If he reduces his speed by 1/5th, he goes 16 km/hr less in that time. Find his speed.

Solution:
                  Let his speed be x.

                  10x-10*4x/5 = 16.

                  By solving the above equation, we get
                  x = 8 km/hr.
