2. 14 seconds.
Problems on Trains:
1. A train covers a distance of 6 km in 5 minutes. If it takes 3 seconds to pass a telegraph post, then the length of the train is:
Solution:
Speed = 6/5 * 60
= 72 km/hr
= 72*5/18
= 20 m/s..
Length = 20*3
= 60 m.
2. A train 120 m long passed a pole in 12 seconds. How long will it take to pass a platform 500 m long?
Solution:
Speed = 120/12
= 10 m/s.
Time = (120+500)/ 10
= 620/10
= 62 seconds.
