Problems on
Probability:
1. One card is drawn
at random from a pack of 52 cards. What’s the probability that the card drawn
is a face card?
Solution:
The face cards are King, Queen and Jack. We’ve these 3 cards in all 4
suits.
So
their total will be 3*4 = 12.
P(E) = n(E)/ n(S)
= 12/52
= 3/13.
2. One card is drawn
at random from a pack of 52 cards. What’s the probability of getting a Jack of
Spade or a Queen of Diamond?
Solution:
P(E)
= n(E)/ n(S)
= 2/52
= 1/26.
