Problems on
Probability:
1. One card is drawn
at random from a pack of 52 cards. What’s the probability that the card drawn
is either a black card or a queen?
Solution:
We’ve 26 black cards which include
2 queens. Plus we’ve 2 more queens.
So
their total will be 26+2 = 28.
P(E) = n(E)/ n(S)
= 28/52
= 7/13.
2. From a pack of 52 cards,
one card is drawn at random. What’s the probability that the card drawn is a 3
or club?
Solution:
We’ve 13 Clubs which include 1 three. Plus we’ve 3 more threes.
So
their total will be 13+3 = 16.
P(E)
= n(E)/ n(S)
= 16/52
= 4/13.
