Part filled by them together in 1 hour = 1/3 + 1/2 + 1/6 =1/1.
In 1 hour, the tank will be filled.
2. Pipes A and B can fill a tank in 2 and 3 hours respectively. Pipes C can empty it in 9 hours. If all the pipes are opened together, then the tank will be filled in:
Solution:
The part filled by them in 1 hour = (1/2 +1/3) – 1/9 = 13/18.
The tank will be filled in 18/13 = 1(5/13) hours.
